FOURTH OF JULY COMMISSION MODIFIES 2020 CELEBRATION

The Fourth of July Commission has organized a citywide celebration since our country’s bicentennial in 1976.  The Fourth not only commemorates our 244 years as a nation, but it also celebrates our strength as a country today. Right now.

We don’t know which health guidelines will be in effect come July 4, but we do know that holding our usual events isn’t in the best interest of the community’s safety.  The spirit of the Fourth of July cannot be cancelled, but the commission has decided to modify the day’s activities by avoiding all large gatherings.  We are exploring alternate ideas and we’d love to hear your suggestions!

The Fourth of July Commission’s continued success depends on a successful fund-raising campaign. All donations made this year will be used to support the 2021 celebration. Visit www.phjuly4.com to make a donation and to get updates on this year’s activities.

The fate of this year’s event is disappointing, but the future is not.  We’ll be back together as a community in 2021 with our usual daylong celebration!

Stay safe, and thank you for your past, present, and future participation in our community, Pleasant Hill.
